The value story for school-focused families. You are still inside eight kilometres of the CBD, still on a train line, and still a short run to Somerville House and St Laurence's — but you are paying meaningfully less than the equivalent house north of the river.
Lifestyle
Suburban and quietly diverse. Annerley and Yeronga have a genuine neighbourhood feel, Tarragindi has the hills and the best backyards, and Coorparoo Square has turned the eastern side into a proper local centre.
Housing
Post-war brick and timber, plenty of raise-and-build, and larger blocks the further from the river you go. Tarragindi and Holland Park are the family strongholds.
Getting around
Twelve to twenty minutes to the CBD on the Beenleigh and Cleveland lines, or a straight run up the busway from Coorparoo.
Schools
Somerville House, St Laurence's, Brisbane State High's catchment fringe and Loreto Coorparoo all pull from here, and the South Brisbane school buses run through most of it.
