Brisbane area guide
Bayside
Wynnum, Manly, Wakerley, Gumdale, Cleveland
Brisbane's quiet coast. Not surf — this is Moreton Bay: boats, mangroves, foreshore paths and a slower weekend. You get more house and more land, and a genuinely different pace, in exchange for a longer run into town.

Lifestyle
Manly harbour and the Wynnum foreshore run the social calendar, with sailing clubs, markets and a strong sport culture. Gumdale and Wakerley are the acreage-adjacent family pockets.
Housing
Big blocks, newer builds in Wakerley and Gumdale, character and bay views in Manly and Wynnum. Redland suburbs like Ormiston and Cleveland stretch the budget further again.
Getting around
Thirty to forty minutes to the CBD by train from Wynnum or Manly, longer by car. Gateway Motorway access is good if you are heading north.
Schools
Iona College, Moreton Bay College, Moreton Bay Boys' College, Lourdes Hill by bus and Sheldon College further south.
Storm-tide and low-lying land near the foreshore, and a commute that is genuinely long if both parents work in the CBD.
